Veganuary has started for another year and I am definitely struggling for vegan food ideas. Take a night off with Mandira’s Kitchen and try out some the most amazing vegan ready meals.
Veganuary is upon us for another year and this year it is proving to be a real challenge because I have to cook all the meals myself. I was kindly sent some vegan ready meals to try out and I jumped at the chance for a few nights off from the cooking treadmill.
Mandira’s Kitchen is an award-winning catering company which was grown by Mandira after she moved to the UK not knowing how to cook and wanting a proper Indian meal. Moving the story along many years and Mandira’s Kitchen is now a fully fledged catering business, providing supper clubs, home catering, cookery lessons and frozen Indian ready meals. Mandira’s Kitchen offers vegetarian Indian food delivery nationwide and all the meals are freshly frozen.
I was really impressed by how well packed the food arrived. It was packaged in a mini freezer box, complete with ice packs and each meal was in its own tray, beautifully preserved. I was kindly sent the following meals:
We first had the Enchorer Dalna with the Vegetable Pulao. The Enchorer Dalna was a jackfruit curry and it was made so beautifully. I loved the gentle balance of spices infused with the jackfruit and the vegetable pulao was the best accompaniment. It was one of my favourite dishes. We also had the Pea Patties and Vegetable Samosas as sides with the dish and it worked really well. The Pea Patties were well made and easy to eat, whilst the Vegetable Samosas were delicious with my cup of tea.
The next day, I made some chappatis and had those with the Chana Masala. It was such a great dish to eat for lunch and you could tell that the tomato gravy was freshly frozen, because it still tasted fresh when we warmed it up to eat. The smell of the Chana Masala was incredible as well.

I really enjoyed my meals from Mandira’s Kitchen and honestly, it has made me rethink Indian ready meals completely. The quality of the food and the fact that they were spiced so well, making them very delicious meals to eat, especially when we can’t eat out anywhere.
A huge thank you to Mandira’s Kitchen for letting me try these out!
