Those of you who have been reading my blog for a long while now, know how much i love my days out in London. On Easter Sunday, my family don’t do much so i decided to head to Greenwich and do some wandering. First up i headed to the Emirates Airline cable car and get a stunning view of London, something i had not done in a long while.
I have been on the Emirates Airline a few times but each time, i love the experience. The view from up above makes it one of the most relaxing ways to see the heart of the city and see it thriving in its splendour. It is also never crazy busy so you actually enjoy the experience rather than feeling frazzled after waiting in a queue for hours.
From high up above, i noticed this amazing ship sailing along the river. This is not a usual occurrence to see such a historical vessel in London so i was intrigued and i realised this was not the only ship on the river. So i headed up the river on the Thames Clipper boat to Cutty Sark to see what was happening.
It was so amazing to see Greenwich looking as though i had stepped back in time when the area was a Royal Navy base. The Tall Ships Festival happens in London each year where Greenwich and Woolwich host the start of the Rendez-vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta. The ships line up along the river and race to Quebec in Canada. It truly is a spectacle to see and the grandeur of the ships makes it all the more special. It is a real occasion.
The whole of the Cutty Sark area was in a festive food with live music, lots of international food festival and everyone had come out on Easter Sunday to celebrate. I had a great time wandering down the river and watching the ships sail by. I will definitely try and get tickets to sail on one of the Tall Ships next year.
