Spa days are possibly one of the best types of days out i love to do. I love the idea that there is a whole day dedicated to me where i can just chill out and be at peace without needing to do any activities or chores. Champneys is one spa resort that i have been desperate to try for a long time so i was really excited to try out the Tring resort and see what it could offer me.
Based in leafy green Hertfordshire, you do feel an instant calm as soon as you drive through the golden gates of the resort. At the reception, we were given a warm welcome and given our packs, robes and flip flops which we were encouraged to wear throughout our spa stay. I immediately realised that everyone around us was walking around in their robes and flip flops and it was perfectly normal.
We were led to another room for some breakfast where a light breakfast awaited us. There was fresh fruit, salmon or cream cheese bagels, granola with berry compote and yoghurt and fresh smoothies. It was refreshing to have after our long traffic filled drive across London and put us in the perfect state to enjoy our day at Champneys.
We were given a tour of the facilities before we headed to change into our robe and flip flops to live in for the rest of our stay. I do suggest that you wear a swimming costume under it though. The robe was super soft and immediately, i felt like i could just chill out and be comfortable in my own skin.
The use of mobile phones is banned throughout Champneys so i had no choice but to relax and just enjoy myself. I headed to the Relax suite where i bobbed around the jacuzzi and then lay on the water beds to have a quick nap. It was so incredibly relaxing and such a luxury to have the time to do this.
I had an Elemis Resurfacing facial booked in so i headed to the treatment rooms. As expected, the treatment rooms were luxurious and i felt truly pampered as my skin was given what i can only describe as a deep clean. My skin felt so smooth and refreshed after the facial, i actually didn’t do anything to my face until i got my home. It felt so lovely!
I then headed to probably one of the most delicious lunch buffets i have ever tasted. Every dish, salad and soup was created with perfection and it was all so tasty. The plates were usefully marked with portion size of how much of each type of food category you were meant to be eating.
After lunch, we cleaned up and headed for a long country walk around the Champneys estate. It was so much fun just picking our way through the country roads and paths and enjoying the fresh air and nature.
I really enjoyed my time at Champneys Tring and would definitely recommend it to others. Despite it being on the pricier side, you get what you pay for and it is the perfect place to recharge and find your inner peace. We are already planning our next stay and want to stay for a few days.
