National Cupcake Week: My favourite cupcakes

I love a good cupcake. There is something about the novelty about having a cupcake that makes it so much fun to hold and eat, despite knowing that you are probably consuming your year’s guided daily allowance of sugar. Whenever I go to a bakery, in the UK or anywhere else, I am always staring at the cupcakes. The prettier they are, the better. No longer are they for little girls in tulle dresses, Sex and the City took care of that myth and put The Magnolia Bakery in New York on the map. The British Baker magazine all that is happy and so delicious about National Cupcake Week and I thought I would profile some of my favourite places to eat them.

Primrose Bakery in Covent Garden

Primrose Bakery has to be one of my favourite places in London to hide away and indulge in some delicious cupcakes. Staff are so welcoming and the whole bakery is decorated in true blogger style, pink and white. The cupcakes are delicious and every week they have flavours that change around so there is always something new to try out. If you are feeling truly indulgent, have a cupcake with a milkshake, the perfect combo. They also put on masterclasses so you can learn how to make your own perfect cupcakes!

Peggy Porschen

Peggy Porschen in Victoria has become a bit of a cult place for bloggers to flock to and it is no surprise. If the pink and floral exterior of the cafe does not appeal, the cupcakes inside look like something that walked out of your dreams. Their cupcakes are so beautifully and artistically decorated that you are afraid to eat them and when you do, every bite is more delicious than the last. I love these cupcakes, so good.

The Magnolia Bakery

This is a rather cheeky addition but I could not stop myself from including it in my list. If you end in New York or Dubai, please seek out The Magnolia Bakery. The cupcake above is a fraction of the beauty of their cupcakes, I mean could this cake be iced more like a flower than if it chose to do so. I really enjoyed The Magnolia Bakery in New York too and felt like a right little Sex and the City fan, nibbling away at it outside the Empire State Building.

I hope you enjoyed my post for National Cupcake Week. I off to find my nearest bakery to indulge in all the sugary goodness. Don’t forget to follow my blog if you enjoyed this post,

Sanoobar x
