I was very kindly invited by the Harrods YSL Beauty team to a meet up with Amelia Liana and a chance to have afternoon tea with her. I have been following Amelia’s YouTube channel and social media channels since a number of years so i jumped at the chance to meet her. The event was held at Harrods in the Galvin Demoiselle at the Conservatory. It was truly a beautiful location for the meet up and i was amazed as walked into the private event space.
Everything was beautiful, from the people to the tables. The whole area had been laid out as an afternoon tea with all the new YSL beauty products displayed in trays, ready for us eager bloggers to get our hands on them and get testing. Amelia greeted each of us at the entrance so warmly and was genuinely interested in talking to us and finding out about what we did. This was so refreshing and she was so warm and approachable.
I was like a woman possessed, i couldn’t stop taking photos. We took our seats and the team explained the format of the evening. Amelia was going to demonstrate using her favorite products first and then we were free to try out all the products in front of us as we wished. As she got to work taking off her make up, she spoke extensively about her favourite YSL products and asked us about ours too. She then went on to apply her base, the YSL Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow followed by the new launch, the YSL Touche Eclait Cushion Foundation which is due to launch on 26th April. She then went on to bronze with the Les Sahariennes Bronzing Stones and contour with the Couture Contouring compact. She was already glowing by this point but she went on to add YSL’s new glow shots which are amazing. They are due to launch on 26th April and it is a liquid in a tube which you can tap onto your face as a very subtle glow. It has a radiant finish and looks amazing in the sun.
Once Amelia had finished her make up, we were left to try out all the make up in front of us. It was like being a kid in a sweet shop. All the products were brand new so you could play with them as you wanted without feeling they had been used before (i am so paranoid about this). I took off the foundation i was wearing and got to work with the YSL Touche Eclait Le Teint foundation in the shade BD60. It was a lot heavier in coverage than i imagined but it had a lovely finish to it. I took away a sample with me, for me to try at my own leisure. I then finished off the Les Sahariennes Bronzing Stones and the YSL glow shot. I loved the look (see below).
The foundation gave my skin an immediate glow and instantly i felt like my skin looked fresh and revived. I usually avoid highlighters due to my oily skin but i would love to have the glow shots in my make up bag to wear on a daily basis. The glow is so subtle and pretty too.
I had an amazing time trying out the make up, meeting Amelia Liana and also meeting the wonderful YSL team. They were all so friendly and incredibly helpful, i will definitely go visit their counter in Harrods again.
I also vlogged the event too which should be going up this weekend so keep an eye on my blog for that. I hope you enjoyed this post, don’t forget to give the blog a follow or this blog a like if you did!
