Marc Jacobs make up is something which has not UK shores yet. When i saw the brand at Sephora in Dubai Mall, i jumped at the chance to try it. The Marc Jacobs Full Cover Foundation Concentrate has had mixed reviews from regular users to bloggers alike. Some adore it and some really disagree with the hype.
I was dying to try this as it is meant to be the holy grail product for those of us who have oily skin so i was really excited. One thing that first hits you about this foundation is its packaging. It comes as a glossy capsule with a beautiful black silky main cap, a glass bottle and a silver stopper on the inside. At first touch, the foundation just feels like a luxury product. It is available is a mind boggling 22 shades so it pretty much has every shade of skin covered. The texture is great, it is a gel like formula but it feels incredibly light on the skin.
The one thing that really struck me about this foundation is how little you need of it. At first try, i literally needed about 5p worth and that covered the whole of my face. It goes on incredibly smoothly and can be easily built up if you need more coverage. Even when you apply other make up on top of it, it still lets other products go on smoothly without the foundation actually moving anywhere. My bronzer and blusher went on beautifully and it offers light/medium coverage.
Now the million dollar question, can it be my everyday foundation? Short answer no. Only because i have incredibly oily skin so i need a foundation which can withstand this and this foundation does not do this. I saw it caking around my mouth and under my eyes towards the end of the day and i really don’t like foundations which wears like this. If you have dry skin, i can imagine this foundation clinging to dry patches and not looking very attractive. This foundation will be perfect for special occasions but for an everyday foundation, i will stick to my Nars Sheer Glow.
