Perfume can be notoriously expensive. Over the years, I graduated from using fragrances from the drugstore to designer fragrances with Carolina Herrera, Narciso Rodriguez, L’Occitane and Marc Jacobs becoming my firm favourites. However my dream is to own a Jo Malone fragrance. I love the smell, the packaging and the classy nature of the Jo Malone perfumes but what I don’t love in the pice tag. I can’t bring myself to spend £90 on bottle of perfume so I had given up on that dream of owning one. Enter Primark.
On a random Primark shop, I stumbled upon their Private Collection and I was blown away by them. I smelt all of them in store and instantly grabbed every single perfume that was on the shelf. I could only find four of the scents but I just have to have them in my collection. The four I bought were Amber Noir, Pomegranate and Black Tea, Rose Oud and Mandarin and Basil. The perfumes also come with hand washes, fragrance oils and hand creams too but I only bought the perfumes.
Perfume notes: Oriental fragrance with White Jasmine, Patchouli, Suede and Vanilla Bean
This spicy Amber fragrance is inspired by Morocco and it smells amazing. I have been in love with the Jo Malone Cologne Intense fragrances since they first came out and this Amber Noir smells closest to their Oud and Bergamot scent.
Pomegranate and Black Tea
Perfume notes: Fresh and fruity blend of Pomegranate Molasses, Winter Spices, Black Tea and Rose
I am definitely not one for fruitier scents but I have found myself using this Pomegranate and Black Tea one often during the day. It smells really refreshing and is lovely to build up the muskier scents that I use all the time.
Perfume notes: Red Rose Petals, Raspberries, Dark Woods and Patchouli
I can’t even describe how beautiful this Rose Oud perfume smells. I love the two scents together and this is me in a bottle. It has the perfect blend of rose and oud and it actually lasts throughout the day too.
Mandarin and Basil
Perfume notes: Mandarin, Bergamot, Peppery Basil, Pine Needles
This the most refreshing citrus scent and a complete dupe of the Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin scent. It smells just the same and it is a great summer scent.
I am really impressed by Primark’s Private Collection and these perfumes are only £8 each, a complete bargain by. If you are like me and want a Jo Malone perfume dupe, head down to Primark as these are definitely going to sell out!
