With the nights getting colder and wetter, why not have a games night in with your loved ones.
With winter nights getting colder, the temptation to hibernate is strong. I know that I, for one, become a social recluse. I hide away from quick meet ups with my friends and family and become more prone to staying at home, underneath my blanket watching lots of Netflix.
When giffgaff invited me to take part in a night in with family and friends, I was definitely up for it. An excuse to not go out and still see the people I love sounded like the perfect combination so I was really excited for the evening. giffgaff kindly sent me their sim cards, an Amazon echo, a go-pro, powerbank and also board games.
I don’t know about you but it has been a decade since I have played a board game. I used to love playing Snakes and Ladders and Cluedo as a kid but as I got older, TV shows took over and the convenience of watching the latest episode of my favourite show replaced non-screen fun.
The games I was sent included Obama Llama 2 (a pun rhyming game), Bucket of Doom (helps you plot your dodgy escapes) and our favourite, Weird Things Humans Search For. I invited my family over, bought some Domino’s pizza and off we went.
I loved the fact that it got us off our phones, made us talk to each other and whilst we played the game, we shared our own experience of searching for things on the net too. We got highly competitive as the night went on and by the end of the evening, I felt as though I had spent some real quality time with my family. It had felt like a long time since we had laughed so much!
Thank you so much to giffgaff for helping us get together and doing something different.
