The Five Best festive afternoon teas in London

Here are the best five festive afternoon teas to do in London at Christmas. I love a good afternoon tea and have spent a lot of time trying some the best in London so here are a few tips.

1. Claridge’s Afternoon Tea

The Claridge’s afternoon tea is my absolute favourite afternoon tea. It is no wonder that I go every single year, twice a year (minus last year for obvious reasons!). The decor, the delectable food and the impeccable service mean that whoever I have gone with, they have made me feel like family and my companions have been greeted like friends. It is always an occasion visiting Claridge’s and they are always so accommodating of any dietary requirements or even a sleepy toddler. Always and forever my favourite. Check out my review here.

2. Fortnum & Mason Afternoon Tea

The Fortnum & Mason afternoon tea is a tradition tea but one that is reliable and always perfect in presentation and service. Based in one of the most touristy spots in London, it still creates a little tea haven away from the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly. The scones are some of my favourites, always warm and comforting to eat and they have one of the biggest selections of teas in London. Check out my review here.

3. The Landmark London Afternoon Tea

The Landmark London is a home away from home for me. I have worked in the area near it and I have always found it to be warm and welcoming and staff are always so lovely. Their afternoon tea is no different. It is very relaxed in atmosphere and I find that they always go out of their way to make sure we have a good time. At Christmas, the food area is transformed with this gigantic Christmas tree and I always pop in every single year to have a look. Check out my review here.

4. The Savoy Afternoon Tea

The Savoy is a new addition to the list, so much so that I haven’t written my review yet. The afternoon tea really impressed me. Set in a gorgeous hotel with so much history, it was a lovely tea with lots of atmosphere. The food was delicious and I liked the added touch of having a mince pie being hand delivered to us. The staff were lovely and they were brilliant at being so patient with my toddler too. Review coming soon.

5. The Chesterfield Mayfair afternoon tea

I am never sure why The Chesterfield Mayfair is not often rated as one of the best afternoon teas. I have always found it to be one that is not as huge as the others but still has some great festive touches. The desserts are beautifully decorated and put together and you can tell that they really put a lot of thought into the decorations. There is often a sweet cart at hand and little ones get a special bear too. Check out my review here.
