Dominique Ansel, the creator of the Cronut, brings back soft serve ice cream with a difference with their new Strawberry Fields collection.
Dominique Ansel is an award winning pastry chef for a reason. Based in Belgravia in London, Ansel’s bakery is a real gem of the instagram world. It is only a stone’s throw away from Peggy Porschen and it has the most beautiful floral display decorating its doorway. The French-born pastry chef is well known for his signature creations including his cronuts, cookie shots and now watermelon flavoured soft serve ice cream sandwiched between two slices of the fruit.
I visited on a Wednesday evening and it wasn’t busy at all, compared to Porschen’s long queues. The heat of the day was getting to me so I had to cool down and what better way to do that then trying out Ansel’s Strawberry Fields collection. They have two specials – the Watermelon ice cream slice and Strawberry Fields. I chose the Strawberry Fields is basically strawberry flavoured soft serve ice cream topped with real strawberries. I was seated against the beautiful flower walls in their outdoor area and happily ate my way through my dessert whilst watching the world go by. The ice cream was absolutely delicious but the service even better. My waitress was happy to take photos for me and no one rushed me even though I was taking over a whole table all by myself.
The collection is available till 12th August so hurry on down there if you would like to try it.
I hope you enjoyed this post, don’t forget to give my blog a follow if you did,
