Paris has to be one of my favourite European cities for a day trip. It is easy to get to from London via Eurostar and the train drops you off right in the middle of the city. On arrival, I took the train to the Eiffel Tower to visit the iconic landmark and check out the Parisian views in all its glory.
Visiting the Eiffel Tower meant a lot of queues and as security had got tighter, I ended up waiting for almost two hours before actually getting up the tower. The lifts took me up to the second floor of the tower and then another lift took us up to the top floor.
The views from the Tower were stunning despite it being a cloudy day. Seeing the River Seine winding though the city and the beautiful Trocadero from the top of the Tower was truly special. I loved visiting the Eiffel Tower after such a long time and enjoyed the experience. It did however take forever to get up and down the Tower and honestly, I would recommend you visit the Eiffel Tower early in the morning.
Before heading back on the Eurostar, I went on the river cruise up and down the Seine and see all that Paris has to offer from the water. I had the opportunity to see Musee D’Orsay, Notre Dame and the Grand Palais from the river and they looked truly magnificent. I would love to go back to Paris for a longer time and visit all the attractions properly in the future.
I hope you enjoyed this quick look into my day trip to Paris, don’t forget to follow my blog if you did,
