When you start out as a blogger, you never quite know what to expect and what you will need to up your blog as you grow your following. There is also an assumption that you will automatically know exactly what technology you will need and you will understand how to use them. I am, by no means, a tech expert but I thought I would share with you what I use to make my content each week.
I debated long and hard when it came to me choosing the laptop I wanted to use on a daily basis. I had always been a Windows girl before I switched over to Apple. I was worried about whether I would be compatible with Apple’s hardware but actually it has been easier to use than Windows. It is expensive so I did have to save for a fair few months before I actually took the brave jump of buying one. I wanted to buy one with all the memory and speed possible so I did make my MacBook a big investment. It is the only laptop that can actually handle Adobe applications like Photoshop and Premiere Pro with ease too. It is light enough to be travelled with and that was a key factor for me choosing it too.
One of the first things I bought when I bought my MacBook was an external hard drive. I now own five of these hard drives and I ensure that all my photos and videos are stored on there. I like to keep my laptop free of memory hungry items and use my hard drives as my main source of storage.
I debated long and hard when it came to choosing what camera I wanted to use for my blog photography and YouTube videos. I thought about getting a Canon DSLR but i wanted a camera which would give me a high quality of photographs as well as being portable to take out and about to blogger events. The Olympus PEN has gained a cult status among bloggers and there is good reason for it too. It looks fashionable, comes in different colours and at the same time provides wifi connectivity to my phone so i can post high quality images whilst I am out and about.
The Panasonic Lumix camera was the original camera I used when I started my blog. I used to use it for all my blog photography and it does create some amazing photographs but what it is even better for, is vlogging. It is light and small enough to slip into my smallest handbags whilst letting me vlog whilst I am out and about. I really love this camera and great for being on the move.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
So controversial but I don’t have an iPhone. Many despair when I say that I don’t like iPhones but I honestly think they are the poorer cousin to the Android phones. At times, I don’t carry a camera all the time so I need to rely on my phone for photography instead. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has the best camera and has battery power that lasts all day, even if I have been using it all day. All plus points when it comes to being a blogger out and about.
Having an android means that I am incredibly lucky with memory, my phone is expanded to 128GB with my memory card. However this nifty little device, the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive allows me to swiftly save images onto the portable USB and transfer them to my laptop to post instantly onto my blog.
My laptop is one of the most expensive items that I own so it is only fair that I want to protect it. I fell for this laptop sleeve as soon as I saw it. It comes in this beautiful purple colour and is lined with soft thick fleece like material which acts as a cushion for my laptop.
I hope you enjoyed this post, reading all about the blogger technology that I own and use on a regular basis. It took me a lot of research to find these items and they really have proven to be worthy of my investment.
Don’t forget to give this post a like or my blog a follow if you did enjoy reading this,
