Chelsea in Bloom returned to London this year with a new theme, Under the Sea, with sea creatures of all kinds crafted out of beautiful flowers along King’s Road in Chelsea.
Chelsea in Bloom is one of my favourite times of year in London when the whole area transforms into flower heaven. Held in conjunction with the Chelsea Flower Show, the floral week takes over King’s Road in Chelsea and it draws in huge crowds. Whether you are attending the Chelsea Flower Show or simply a flower enthusiastic, there is something for everyone.
I headed there on Saturday to check it out before it ended, armed with my floral dresses and map of Chelsea in Bloom. It was so busy and in fact, Sloane Square was so full that it had become a bit of battle to take photos with tourists and Londoners clambering to get their ultimate instagram shot.
We wandered down the side streets instead and it was just as busy. I would argue this is the busiest I have ever seen Chelsea in Bloom and I have been going since the last couple of years. This year’s theme was Under the Sea, celebrating the underwater world and shedding light on conserving our oceans and its sealife.
I had a great time wandering through Chelsea and marvelling at the beautiful creations, they are actual works of art and you have to appreciate the amount of work and thought that has gone into them.
It is only on for one more day so get down there stat if you want to see it.
I hope you enjoyed this post, don’t forget to give my blog a follow if you did,
