Burberry Makers House London

Burberry has combined with the design store The Craftman, to create a pop-up fashion event in Soho where visitors can see the inspiration and craftsmanship behind their latest collection.

The Creative Chief of Burberry, Christopher Bailey said that the latest collection is influenced by Virginia Woolf’s Orlando which is about how the main character changes gender midway through the novel. This is reflected in his current collection where many of the pieces are unisex and in rich colours.

I love this current collection, i do think Bailey has got it just right in the colours and in the style. The contrast of the pussy bow blouses with the strong structured jackets and military style jackets with frills are perfectly on trend. Burberry is always on point when it comes to its accessories and this is reflected in its current collection with satchel style bags with strong horse bridle style handles and the studded waist belts. I loved the concept of layered shirt dresses on top of pyjama style outfits and belting them at the waist. The Makers House is genius and it shows how far Burberry has come, making the brand more tangible to its audience. This is also Burberry’s first collection which was immediately available in the shops as soon as it had been shown on the catwalk.

I loved visiting this space and it did give me a real insight into the work that goes into Burberry’s collections. I hope you enjoyed this post, don’t forget to give me or like or a follow if you did,

Sanoobar x
