When a Bollywood Festival comes to London, I had to go and visit and see what all the fuss was about at Pitch Stratford.
Bollywood does not come to London very often and when the Bollywood Festival comes to town in East London, I had to go and check it out. Bollywood Funkadelic are known for their Bollywood nights they do all over London and for the first time, they bought the Bollywood Festival to Pitch Stratford. We arrived on an autumnal Saturday afternoon to Pitch Stratford and were greeted with Bollywood music on full blast. The festival was dedicated to celebrating the end of summer. The party feeling was very much on at the venue with the DJ playing a mixture of golden oldies, latest hits to retro 90s Bollywood. Lining either side of the seating area were booths where you could grab Indian street food snacks, drinks and even shisha.
I loved the atmosphere of the Bollywood Festival, it was great fun with groups of friends arriving to reminisce about their childhoods growing up with Bollywood music, singing, dancing whilst taking part in the games placed strategically on the colourful picnic benches. From Jenga to the more traditional Carrom board, there was lots to take part in, as well as girls present to do Henna on your hands. I had a great time and honestly, these festivals need to come to London more often and bring so many different people together on a grand scale.
I hope you enjoyed this post, don’t forget to give my blog a follow if you did,
