As soon as Winter hits, i do become a bit more obsessed with skincare and this year more than ever. I have started taking Roaccutane for my acne which has really started to dry my skin out so i am trying to work out what works for it whilst i am on the medication. One thing i have become accustomed to is keeping my skin hydrated. During the winter months, my skin though oily, has always been prone to getting odd dry patches and feeling rather sore if i cleanse it too coarsely. So here are just a few things that i have been using to keep my skin under control.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream
I discovered The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture through the Eid advent calendar they produced earlier in the year. I was using their Vitamin E eye cream but when i ran out, i turned to using this moisture cream and honestly it does the same job. Just pat it in under your eye and voila, an eye cream.
The Body Shop Drops of Light Pure Translucency Essence Lotion
This lotion is a new one for me. When i went to the Body Shop lock in, the make up artist use this as a base on my skin and i just loved how soft and smooth my skin felt after application. I use this under my primer before i apply foundation instead of moisturiser. It leaves my skin feeling very fresh and is so lightweight on my skin.
I was so surprised to discover how well Rose Water works as a skin toner. I have now used as toner since the last three years and it really helps with the scarring my acne often leaves behind. Cheap, easy and natural.
Vita Coco Coconut Oil
I have always been sceptical of using coconut oil on my skin but this stuff is amazing. I use this after i take all my make up off with miceller water. I often leave it on my skin for around 10-15 minutes before washing it off with my facial wash. It helps with scarring and blemishes and really makes sure that all the make up is off my face at the end of the day.
Vitamin E Skin Oil
As my skin is drying out, it has a tendency to look a bit haggard once i have cleansed. I try to avoid using moisturiser at night as i find that it clogs my skin. Instead i have been apply this vitamin e oil after i tone my skin and leaving it on overnight. In the morning, my looks instantly fresher and rehydrated.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my rather unusual skin care routine for winter. Don’t forget to give me a like or a follow if you did,
