I thought I would try something new this year and look back at some of my favourite beauty bits that I have been loving this year. It has been a rather strange year for me beauty wise. Skin wise, my face has gone through a transformation which I will be doing a video about in the new year. I have been stripping back my beauty routine quite a bit hence why this is going to be a rather difficult one for me to write.
Cleansers: L’Oreal Micellar Water
L’Oreal have been on fire when it comes to skin care this year and they have had some fantastic releases. I have loved their micellar water this year, it doesn’t leave my skin dehydrated and takes off all my make up in one sweep. Anything that makes my skincare routine easy, is one that I can definitely vouch for.
I honestly don’t know what my skin type is at the moment but I have been religious in making sure my skin is moisturised regularly no matter the weather. The Clinique Moisture Surge has seen my skin through months of acne meds which really did leave my skin parched and I have continued to use it post treatment as well.
Foundation: Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
I discovered this Rimmel foundation through an Influenster box that I was sent this year and I have honestly not worn another foundation since. It has such an easy application and I can blend it out in minutes. It lasts all day and gives great coverage too!
Eyeshadow palettes: Naked Heat
The Naked Heat palette was an immediate favourite for many bloggers this year and the fact it sold out in minutes meant that more people wanted it. I was really dubious about purchasing it but after I saw the shades in person, I had to have it. It is such a versatile palette and it looks amazing on. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
I couldn’t just choose one this year as both these mascaras have changed up my beauty game. The Dior Pump N Volume I discovered on a no make up day and the insane volume it gave my eyes meant that I had to have it. It makes my eye make up look amazing and though pricey, it is worth it. L’Oreal Paris Paradise Extatic mascara had to have a mention. I was obsessed with the Two Faced Better than Sex mascara last year but once it finished, I had to find a dupe. That is where this L’Oreal mascara came in, it does the exact same thing minus the price tag.
I love using a good primer under my foundation, it helps with the finish of my look and the peach undertones of this primer makes my skin glow. I wish I had taken a photo of this primer before this but I have loved it so much that it has finished on me. It is on my list of things to repurchase.
Fragrance: Glossier You
I know you guys must be sick of me raving about Glossier but they really have changed my skincare game for me. Simple skincare and the focus back on making skin looking healthy really appeals to me. I fell for their Glossier You fragrance at one of their events and now every time I wear this, it makes me feel so special and refreshed. It helps the packaging is so classy as well!
I hope you enjoy this look into my best beauty products for 2017 and I can’t wait to see what the new year brings for beauty launches.
