A week away in sunny Bournemouth

Any break away from London feels like heaven to us Londoners, not only because it feels like heaven but it means we see more of the blue skies and the coast if we’re lucky. I went to Bournemouth last week to soak in the (rare) sunny spells and had a wonderful time wandering the coasts, discovering the town centre and enjoying the opportunity to soak my feet into the sand.

I stayed in The Cumberland hotel which is based on the East Cliffe drive so only a short walk away from the sea. The hotel is based high up on the cliff with the beach down below and i was incredibly impressed by this place, not only by its service but by the magnificent food. The restaurant within the hotel gave us a three course meal as part of our deal and the food was simply delicious. Freshly made soup for starters and a range of main courses meant i never went hungry and even breakfast was well catered with a range of hot and cold food on offer.

If you don’t fancy the walk down to the beach and trust me, it is incredibly steep. You can opt to take the East Cliffe railway which glides you effortlessly down to the sandy coast. There is lots to do in Bournemouth, from the sandy walks on the beaches to the visits to the Town Centre. I didn’t have much time to do everything but i would recommend it for a quick break away from London to get some peace of mind.
