The Landmark London Christmas Afternoon Tea

Christmas afternoon tea at the Landmark London is one of the best places to go for a festive treat this year.

Christmas afternoon tea at The Landmark London is one of the most festive places things to do in London and spend an afternoon avoiding all the crazy busy hubbub of the city. The Landmark London has long been one of my favourite places to go and it is absolutely beautiful this time of year. Walking about of London Marylebone station, the entrance of the hotel is magically lit up with Christmas trees and when you come into the lobby, you feel like you have entered another world.

The Winter Garden Restaurant is breathtaking and even though it was not my first time there, I still turned the corner and went ‘wow’. Their Christmas tree this year is so beautifully decorated and lit that I just stood and stared for a while. Offset by the palm trees, the tree was perfectly framed and set the mood for my afternoon tea.

The festive afternoon tea is available from now till 6th January and if you get the chance, I would highly recommend it. I was shown to my table and given my choice of tea. I got my favourite Jasmine Pearl and sat back to watch the twinkling tree and enjoying the pianist. The service was impeccable and the staff could not have done enough to help me. I had the vegetarian afternoon tea, accompanied by their berry mojito mocktail.

The sandwiches were thick and chunky and actually really enjoyable. The fillings were varied from pesto and tomato, egg and mayo, cucumber and cheese and hummus and roasted peppers. Every time I had some space on my plate, like magic, one of their staff members appeared and filled my plate again. Next up were my scones and a choice of two jams – I had strawberry and blackberry jam, accompanied by clotted cream.

The scones were absolutely delicious, warm and passed the ultimate test of being able to be twisted and fall apart. Then came the works of art, the desserts. They were Christmas themed, with a mixture of macaroons, gingerbread mousse and chocolate brownie, chocolate marble cake and others. Each dessert was so beautifully made and delicate that I didn’t want to eat them at first glance. I did end up nibbling through them rather quickly, rounding off one of the best festive afternoon tea.

I had a lovely time at the Landmark London and had one of the most delicious afternoon teas. The atmosphere combined with the great service and food, it was a magical treat for Christmas and I would definitely go back in a heartbeat.
