Drugstore Autumn MakeUp Look

I love Autumn makeup and this post looks at a drugstore Autumn makeup look and whether the products are worth it.

Autumn makeup has to be one of my favourite beauty looks of the year. Gone are the summer days when make up literally melts of your face and face powder is applied and reapplied throughout the day. Autumn brings back the warmer tones, browns and rust orange shades with glowy skin reminiscent of that summer glow as we move into colder days. I also love the fact that your skin is also transitioning with the season changeover too. My oil slick skin of the summer becomes a bit more matte in Autumn and honestly a bit more manageable. I can safely use highlighter, confident in the belief that it will not make my face glow like the surface of the sun by the end of the day.

For a whole week, I tried using drugstore makeup products only do my daily look. The products I used were:

Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser Concealer

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation

Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Face Powder

MUA Make Up Academy Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Undress Me too’

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eye Pencil

L’Oreal Paradise Extatic Waterproof Mascara

L’Oreal Tattoo Signature black eyeliner

MUA Whipped Velvet Blush in ‘Hedonic’

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Liquid Highlighter

I actually got very used to using the drugstore makeup products throughout the week and I pretty much forgot that I was using them. The Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation is fantastic and I actually love it. It lasts all day, has a lovely semi-matte finish and leaves my skin looking flawless. The Maybelline Eraser Concealer is a cult product and it is loved by many. It doesn’t seem to work for me, and even though it has good coverage, it creases so badly and I can’t get on with it. The Soap and Glory One heck of a blot is a classic and I love it when I am on the move but I did feel like I was missing a good fine setting powder throughout the week for the initial mattifying of my face.

I actually bought the MUA Undress Me Too palette as the dupe to the Urban Decay Naked palette and I forgot how good it was. The eyeshadows are well pigmented and easy to blend and the glittery ones were definitely still on my eyes towards the end of the day. The eye pencil, mascara and eyeliner are old favourites of mine and were just as I remembered. The liquid highlighter as pretty but disappeared as the day went on. The only thing I really didn’t like was the MUA whipped blush, it did nothing for me and despite me trying to apply it every different way possible, it was non -existent on my face.

Here is the makeup look that I have worn throughout the week and it was long lasting as this was my look at the end of the day. I enjoyed my week of experimentation this week, and I will definitely be trying it again soon.

I hope you enjoyed this post, don’t forget to give my blog a follow if you did,

Sanoobar x
