Instagrammable desserts are the ones to watch out for these days, with desserts being crafted to perfection to make sure they make the dreamiest picture. Ever since I saw the Maitre Choux eclairs on instagram, I had to go and have a taste and get some stunning photos at the same time. Recently opened patisserie in South Kensington, Maitre Choux is dedicated to choux pastry – eclairs, profiteroles and sugared buns called crouquettes.
The master patissier Joakim Prat is from France and doesn’t create the large cream bulging eclairs that we are used to. These sugared confections are instead elegant pastry fingers, decorate to ensure they are amazing to look at, created in pastel colours made in some delicious flavours.
I fell for the blush pink raspberry cream eclair, beautifully decorated in dainty icing and the most delicate of choux pasteries. I ate the eclair in one go and honestly, they are so small that I could have eaten 10 more. They are not the cheapest of desserts but they are worth the taste. They are simply delicious!
