I couldn’t let National Chocolate Week go by without reviewing a London based Chocolate Afternoon Tea. Towering palm trees in a huge glass atrium, the Winter Garden Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel does make you feel like you have left the city lights for the sunny dunes of Dubai. From the moment you enter the hotel, you know you have entered the world of luxury.
All the china was gold pattered which was beautiful and fitted in elegantly with the decor of the hotel. The Landmark Hotel has its own blend of teas too including the Winter Garden blend of tea. I didn’t try this as it seemed to strong for me, instead I opted for the Jasmine green tea instead. The tea arrived in a silver teapot and was placed on a silver stand on the side of the table. On a side note, we had a tea waitress who was devoted to our table. She filled up my cup so many times, I lost count!
The sandwiches were given to us on request, I had my usual vegetarian selection. I have to say sandwiches are usually the side show when it comes to afternoon tea but the Winter Garden Restaurant have got this right. The bread is delicious and we fell in love with the nutty breads and scrumptious fillings.
The scones were warm and fluffy when they arrived on the platter and we immediately got to work eating them, with the apricot jam and clotted cream. We had a choice of jam which I thought was a lovely touch to the afternoon tea.
Last but not least, we had the delicious chocolate desserts. One of my favourites was the pistachio and chocolate gateau and the white chocolate mousse inside the dark chocolate cup. The desserts were delicious and honestly I was so full but still continued to devour every single bite.
The Chocolate Afternoon Tea at the Landmark Hotel is definitely worth a try if you love afternoon tea. The hotel had such a lovely atmosphere with welcoming staff and a harpist who played melodious music which acted as a perfect backdrop.
The afternoon tea can be booked on the Landmark Hotel website.
I hope you enjoyed this post, don’t forget to give my blog a follow if you did.
