Beauty Review: Maxfactor Velvet Matte Lipsticks

I am a big fan of matte lipsticks but the one thing that bugs me about them is the drying formula on some of them. Maxfactor is such an affordable brand so i was excited to see if these were going to live up to my hopes. I won these as part of Amelia Liana’s giveaway and promptly got swatching them as soon as they arrived. The first thing that struck me about them are the matte lipstick tubes they come in and the trademark X that is on the lipstick itself.

From bottom to top: Matte 05 Nude, Matte 10 Sunkiss, Matte 20 Rose, Matte 15 Flame, Matte 35 Love, Matte 25 Blush, Matte 30 Desire

All the lipsticks glide on so smoothly and are beautifully well pigmented. These lipsticks are the perfect balance between matte and moisturising. The hydration that comes from the oil infused within the lipstick means the colour looks more vibrant but it does mean the colour doesn’t last as long. However, it is so comfortable to wear that you can almost forgive the lipsticks for that. They last up to three to four hours and my lips stay hydrated throughout the day wearing them. My favourite shade out of all of them is the Matte 25 Blush, it is a gorgeous dark pink and great for the summer, if that ever makes an appearance.
