When Kat Von D arrived in the UK, i was beyond psyched. I had seen the Kat Von D counters at Sephora, i went a bit crazy over it but sadly so much of their make up was out of stock as it had just launched in New York last year. When it came to Debenhams, i was literally first in line for the new collection. I wanted to try out the whole collection but settled for the liquid lipsticks instead initially.
Liquid lipsticks are my weakness. I love them so much and the fact that they last so long means i literally want every colour in liquid lipstick. When i swatched Lolita II and Bauhaus, i fell in love with the shades and i wanted them so badly so i jumped to get my hands on them in the UK. They are so beautiful but out of the two, Bauhaus is my absolute favourite, it is vibrant and deep enough to be absolutely stunning on. It brightens every look and it is my failsafe on days when i feel really dreary.
I find it so hard to get on with liquid eyeliners and i genuinely struggle with finding ones that i can swear by. I loved the Kat Von D ‘Ink Liner’ when i swatched it in store. It goes on so smoothly and does not budge once it is on. The nib is flexible and really helps control the product on the eyelid and best of all, it dries matte.
I hadn’t tried out any of Kat Von D’s eye shadow quad until i very kindly got given one of these at the Blogosphere Valentines Tea back in February. Though this plum palette is not a shade i would have usually chosen but it does work great to create a lovely creative look. The shadows are beautifully pigmented and work so well on any skin tone. They are rich enough to darken for night looks and work really well for a day time too if you stick to the lighter colours.
I got given this studded kiss lipsick as a sample but i do find myself reaching for it in my handbag when i am out and about. It is well pigmented enough to give a good wash of colour as well as being able to be applied without a mirror. Lovecraft is a beautiful shade, a lovely mauve colour which acts as a great pick me up.
I have a bit of a love hate relationship with this foundation. I really want to love it and at some days it looks great. It applies flawlessly and once it’s on, it doesn’t budge. When my skin has a good day, the foundation buffs on easily and covers up my acne scars and blemishes. However when i am having breakouts, it has the tendency to cake around my breakouts and sometimes when my skin is extra oily, it creates yellow hue around odd parts of my face. I am going to continue to using the foundation in the summer and see if my skin behaves differently but right now, i am a bit indifferent towards it. So it is a half favourite until i can say more.
